Power of Partnerships and Proactive Management Strategies | Unleash Economic Potential

Past Lessons

South African businesses have demonstrated an unenviable economic resilience in recent years – in KwaZulu-Natal, we even coined a term!

United efforts during times of disaster taught us the power of partnership. Positive change in the economic outlook, locally and abroad, sees enterprises adopting proactive management strategies that capitalise on this collective wisdom.

Present Solutions

Catastrophic crises are currently averted, and enterprise can shift focus from survival to growth.

CTSTime works with local businesses to unlock the potential hidden in time and attendance data.

Way more than a simple clocking system, we offer a comprehensive package that provides complex insights about employee work trends. We help identify problem areas and recognise wasted resources, allowing you to address issues pre-emptively and redeploy staff to realise their full potential.

Future Partners

Delegating administrative tasks to a specialist builds adaptability into your business model; adding a level of complexity that strikes a balance between stability and innovation.

Time to Respond to Market Changes

In a similar spirit of cooperation, our government has embraced a complex management strategy* and implemented innovative ideas. News of the positive impact of such bold decisions is already having a strengthening effect on the economy.

Let’s look at the evidence.

Strategic Partners Clocking-In

11 September 2024 | Two-Pot System Requests Total R4.1bn in Ten Days

Thinking outside the box, the Government of National Unity (GNU) enacted the Two-Pot Pension System earlier this month.

In keeping with a national budget which aims to balance economic growth with pragmatic need, the pension reform goals are to encourage a culture of saving and create a sustainable retirement fund system. Short-term withdrawals allow measured access to support those in financial crisis (a flexible solution far preferable to loan-sharks), protecting the bulk savings.

The response – overwhelming!

Within 24 hours, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) Commissioner, Edward Kieswetter, announced that over 2 400 withdrawal requests were processed, releasing roughly R6.7 million in taxes into the fiscus.

The knock-on effect of these and other changes has resulted in a strengthening of investor and consumer confidence.

Empower people and enact flexible controls to protect the common good.

Inflation is below the target range (a first since 2021) and steady at 4.4%, interest rates are cut by 25 base points (a first since 2020), petrol prices are dropping, and the rand continues to extend gains against the dollar.

It definitely feels like the economy ticked over into a new time zone.

A GNU Economic Era

It is time for small and medium enterprises to revisit management strategy and invest in growth.

Corrupt Players Clock-Out

27 September 2024 | Interdict Ends Hlophe’s Influence Over Cape Courts

In a refreshing move, the Western Cape High Courts’ interim interdict bars impeached judge John Hlophe from participating in the Judicial Service Commission (JSE) sitting in October.

The JSE is set to interview judicial candidates from 7-15 October, including the post of Judge President of the Western Cape High Court – a position Hlophe held from May 2000 – March 2024. The interdict ends Hlophe’s influence over judicial appointments in the Western Cape for the first time in 25 years!

Complex partnerships, innovative stability

Of course, some will argue that the court trespassed into the parliament’s domain, but the risks of not intervening were too high.

The Western Cape is beset by organised crime, and construction mafias have a stranglehold on the economy. Putting an end to these entrenched extortion rackets is proving an uphill battle.

Maybe now that Hlophe gone, we will see credible players populating legal benches, giving hope that we can eliminate construction site corruption. Significantly, this ruling may signal a shift in parliament oversight processes.

Perhaps this is the period to review complex relationships – even Elon Musk and Ramaphosa are talking.

CTSTime | Biometric Devices & Barring Baddies

What biometric access control system should I buy?

Our Access control systems cover simple control to complex multi-authentication methods (RFID cards and biometrics) and access barriers (turnstiles and access-controlled doors). You can choose from our range of biometric access control models, carefully selected to complement standard industrial systems and safeguard staff data.

Biometric Access Control: Face Recognition Terminals

Clicking Systems HIKVISION Terminal

Hikvision Face Recognition Terminal (DS-K1T341CMF)

  • 3 000 users (per authentication mode: face, card, and fingerprint) and 150 000 event logs
  • Fast and accurate face recognition (less than 0.2 secs/user)
  • Connects to secure door control unit (RS-485) and external card reader (Weigand)
  • Supports mask-wearing detection/anti-spoofing (deep learning algorithm)

Facial recognition biometrics offer a robust defence against identity theft, unauthorised access, and fraudulent activities.

Easy to install and compatible with CTSTime and Attendance Software, it is best suited for industrial applications like noisy construction sites.

It is Time to Unleash the Economic Potential of Local Partnerships

Invest in a modular clocking system and partner with a local time and attendance specialist.

The CTSTime team is committed to to finding the system that allows you to shift your focus from administration to business goals.

A final word: What are RS-485 and Weigand?

RS-485: serial communication protocol that allows multiple devices to communicate over long distances and in noisy environments, e.g. construction sites.

Weigand: interface technology that connects card readers to access control systems.

Both technologies are industry standards for access control products.
